AMPK/KDLC PARTNERSHIP:

In December 2010, the Association partnered with the Kenya Distance Learning Centre(KDLC. www.kdlc.ac.ke); a Kenya Government and world Bank initiative for developing trainers and whose mandate is to enhance the capacity of public officers, private individuals and institutions by organizing and implementing relevant skills based short training programs delivered through the use of advanced communications technologies. In 2010 and for the second year running KDLC has partnered with the Asia Development Bank Institute (ADBI),the Tokyo Development Centre (TDLC) Japan and the world Bank to offer an online UNCDF certified Microfinance Training of Trainers course. The program was developed by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNDCF) and targets development practitioners, microfinance professionals, policy makers, donor staff, socially responsible investors and others who want to improve their knowledge of best practices in Microfinance. After learning about this great course, the Association was able to mobilize up to 26 local microfinance experts who are currently enrolled in the program.

According to the words of Normand Lauzon the Executive Secretary UNCDFThis course should be mandatory for anyone who is associated with microfinance – whether they are involved at the periphery , substantially involved, or re-entering the field of finance and development after many years of absence. The course is an essential primer for those who want a quality taste of microfinance, and is guaranteed to whet the appetite of those who intend to further develop their  expertise in this fascinating field”
